Katmai NP Hallo Bay Camp positions
Spring Camp start-up "2 Positions"
Job Location: Pacific Coast of Katmai National Park
Employment Term: May 12-25
Typical Day: 10-12 hours
Provided: Private furnished cabin, prepared meals and bush plane transportation.
Duties: Hauling freight and supplies from the bush plane up to the camp, assembling
weatherport cabins, cleaning, unpacking supplies and assorted manual camp labor duties.
Fall Camp take-down "2 Positions"
Job Location: Pacific Coast of Katmai National Park
Employment Term: September 10-20
Typical Day: 10-12 hours
Provided: Private furnished cabin, prepared meals and bush plane transportation.
Duties: Hauling freight and supplies from the camp to the bush plane, disassembling
weatherport cabins, cleaning, packing up supplies and assorted manual camp labor duties.
Trainee Naturalist Guide "1 Position"
Job Location: Pacific Coast of Katmai National Park
Summer Camp Season: June 1 to September 25
Typical Day: 10-12 hours
Provided: Private furnished cabin, prepared meals and bush plane transportation.
Duties: Duties include guiding guests on naturalist tours around the camp area, teaching and informing
the guests about the wildlife, plant life, flowers, geology, volcanoes, glaciers and the conservation and environment of the coastal brown bears. Duties also include assisting in cleaning cabins, cleaning washroom
and shower facilities, cleaning the camp area and hauling freight from the bush plane up to the camp.
Applicant needs to have the knowledge and ability to promote and advertise Hallo Bay Camp on an
international level to potential overseas clients.
Full Time Camp Cook "1 Position"
Job Location: Pacific Coast of Katmai National Park
Summer Season: June 1 to September 25
Typical Day: 10-12 hours
Provided: Private furnished cabin, prepared meals and bush plane transportation
Duties: Responsible for cooking and serving 3 meals each day for guests and staff (avg.15 people), baking, maintaining and ordering food supplies, maintaining kitchen and galley areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Applicant needs to have cooking and baking experience for large groups in a wilderness setting.
